Confidence vote

An occasion when the members of a parliament or other organisation are asked to say that they support the people in authority and agree with their actions

Example usage from an FT article:

If a chancellor loses a confidence vote, under Germany’s constitution the president has 21 days to decide whether to dissolve the Bundestag.
