Helicopter money
An unconventional monetary policy tool that involves printing large sums of money and distributing it to the public to spur economic growth
Example usage from an FT article:
When the economy is hit by an external shock (hi, Covid!), a fiscal package in the form of helicopter money can very quickly lead to a recovery of production to the pre-shock levels.
